One of those moments

This is a card that I made in 'One of those moments'

I am not sure that I like it really but thought that I would share it anyway. . . . .

Butterflies Galore

Supplies: Clearly Besotted Stamps

Stamps  - 'Full of Surprise', 'You are'
Sentiment - 'Honeycomb'

The background was lightly sponged with Versa Magic Chalk Ink  'Aquatic Splash'  and 'Pink Grapefruit'.   The butterflies were stamped in  'Aquatic Splash.

The spots on the strip at the bottom of the card were made by using the centre of the flowers from the stamp set 'You Are'.  I am realising how the small elements from different stamp sets can be used.

The sentiment is from the 'Honeycomb' set and I finished off with some pearls.

This card is a lot brighter than my usual style - but the sun is out today surprise, surprise.
It must have had an odd affect on me - I am not used to it!

Thank you so much for visiting.

Less is More Challenge - Week 125 Happy Birthday

It is time for another challenge at Less is More and this week it is to make a birthday card for Jen who is one of the designers.  She comes up with fantastic designs week after week and is a great inspiration to us all.

Fortunately for me Jen likes butterflies and this is what I came up with . . .

Another 'Happy Birthday'

Supplies: Clearly Besotted Stamps

Stamps - 'Leafy Accents',  'Butterfly Wishes Additions','Framed Sentiments'

Sentiment - 'Honeycomb'
Dies - 'Butterfly Wishes Die Collection'
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - 'Pinking Stitch'

First of all I masked off sections at the bottom of the card to make a border with Versa Magic chalk ink 'Mango Madness' and Brilliance 'Pearlescent Purple'.

The leaves are stamped in Momento 'Bamboo Leaves'.  The tiny flowers are from 'Framed Sentiments' and they are stamped in 'Pearlescent Purple'.  The large butterfly was die cut and stamped with one of the matching stamps.

The card was finished off with the 'Pinking Stitch' embossing folder. I took a bit of a risk leaving this until the end but it all worked out in the end!

Well that is all for now.

Thank you for visiting.

Shopping Therapy

Perhaps I should get away from Hexagons for a while.

As I had to make a card for a friend who ' loves to shop' I thought that I would share this with you.

Go Shop in Style

Supplies: clearlybesottedstamps.com

Stamps 'It's Your Birthday' and 'Stepping Out'
Sentiment - 'Stepping Out'

There is a bit of masking to make this card.  I stamped an image of both the shoes on to a sticky note and cut around them.

Before I did this for real I practised on a piece of scrap paper to get the positioning of the shoes and gift boxes right.   Eventually, I felt brave enough to stamp the shoes on the piece of card - one  in Distress Ink  'Barn Door' and one in Momento 'Tuxedo Black'.

I then covered the shoes with the masks and stamped the boxes over the top with 'Barn Door' and Adirondack 'Butterscotch'.  When I removed the masks I was quite pleased with the result and thought that it had been worth taking the time with the fiddly bits i.e. cutting out masks.

The sentiment fitted nicely into the remaining space and all I had to do was to add a bit of bling!  I am not so sure about the yellow punched strip that I attached -  but then I am never satisfied!

Well, that is all for now

Thanks so much for visiting

Everyone Loves Hexagons - 'Less is More' Challenge 124

Everyone loves hexagons at the moment and it is the theme over at 'Less is More' this week.

I have been a regular visitor to 'Less is More' for a very long time and this is what really introduced me to CAS cards.

Chrissie and Jen are a great inspiration and I am excited that I have now got the opportunity to enter their Challenges - not sure if I will come up to scratch but I will have a go anyway!

Again, I have turned to Clearly Besotted Stamps using the brilliant Honeycomb set.

Happy Birthday to You

Supplies: Clearlybesottedstamps.com
Stamps and Dies - Honeycomb
Sentiment - Honeycomb

I inked three of the hexagons on the honeycomb frame stamp in Versa Magic 'Night Sky' and then stamped the three individual hexagons into the centre of the frame using Momento  'Bamboo Leaves' and Hero Arts Shadow Ink  'Butter Bar'.

The sentiment was stamped in 'Night Sky'.
Luckily I had some twine and a couple of coloured pearls that matched to finish off.

This is such a useful stamp set there is such a variety of hexagon designs that you are spoilt for choice.

CASE Study Challenge CSC145

This is my second challenge this week.   I am doing my best to master the art of blogging but it is still taking me quite a time to produce a post - in fact longer than it takes to make a card!
I did take my time with this card though because this is for CASE Study Challenge CSC145.
I am in awe of these clever designers, they never cease to inspire and I am quite nervous about entering my creation.

This is it . . .

Hearts, Flowers and Hexagons

Stamps - You Are,  Honeycomb
Sentiment - Full of Surprise
Dies - You Are and Honeycomb

I started off by sponging a background with Versa Magic Sea Breeze and Pink Grapefruit Chalk ink and then stamped over very lightly with one of the flowers from 'You Are' in Pink Grapefruit.
I then stamped the frame from 'Honeycomb' onto a strip of card with Versa Mark 'Brick Red'
stamping inside the frame with one of the individual hexagon stamps with Distress Ink 'Tattered Rose'.
Cutting around the strip of hexagons and added another flower from the set, which was die cut and stamped again in Brick Red.  The centre of the flower is embossed.
This was positioned and fixed with foam squares.
The hearts are punched from pieces of sponged scrap card and covered in Glossy Accents
and finished off with some tiny pearls.

That's all for now.

Clearly Besotted First Challenge

Before I started this blog a couple of weeks ago I spent a lot of time browsing to understand how blogland worked.  I noticed how often the word 'Challenge' came up.  So many talented people enter these Challenges and they often need specific products to enter - which could rule me out.

However Clearly Besotted Stamps have their first challenge this month.  Although I do not have a vast stash of products I am lucky  enough to have quite a few Clearly Besotted Stamps - I am such a fan!

So I decided this would be the ideal opportunity for me to take the plunge and enter my first Challenge.

Using one of Clearly Besotted new stamps sets 'You Are'  this is what I have come up with . .

You Are The Best

Supplies: Clearly Besotted Stamps
Stamps, Dies and Sentiments all from 'You Are' set.

I masked off enough of the card to make a stripe effect by sponging with Versa Magic Chalk Ink ' Sea Breeze ' and 'Turquoise Gem'.  I then die cut both the flowers and sponged them with 'Sea Breeze' stamping over with 'Turquoise Gem'.  I used Versa Magic 'Gingerbread' for the centre of the flower.  The die cut leaves were also stamped with 'Gingerbread' and the sentiment with 'Turquoise Gem'.

I finished off with some matching twine that I happened to have and a die cut circle from the same set - must not forget the pearl of course in the centre of the flower.

Well, now for the difficult part.  Will this get to Stephanie or will it disappear for ever?

One I Made Earlier

I have been busy during the past few days - not doing anything in particular - but I have not had time to make a card so I had to look in 'the box'.   I am sure you have all got one!
I make cards when the mood takes me, which fortunately is quite often.  If I do not need it there and then it goes into 'the box'.
This is the one I fished out . . . . . .

Hexagons and Butterfly

 Supplies Clearly Besotted Stamps
Stamps - Honeycomb, Butterfly Wishes Additions, Sentiment - Honeycomb
Dies - Butterfly Wishes Die Collection, Honeycomb Die

I sponged a piece of card with Versa Magic chalk ink Aquatic Splash and Mango Madness. Using the Honeycomb set I first stamped the frame in Mango Madness and then stamped over with the individual hexagons (requires a steady hand!).  The sentiment is also from the Honeycomb set.  I then fixed a strip of Hero Arts card which fortunately matched the Mango Madness.  The butterfly stamp and die is from Butterfly Wishes Additions.  I finished off with a Hexagon die and some coloured pearls.

That's all for now.

Thank you for visiting.

Buzzing around

It is another lovely sunny day here and I am very tempted to laze outside but something is telling me that I must do this post before I forget everything I learned a few days ago.
Oh well . . . . there is always another time.

Today I want to share this simple card using Clearly Besotted's, Build a Bug stamp set . . .

Hi Honey

Supplies: Clearly Besotted Stamps
Stamps - Leafy accents, Build a Bug, Framed Sentiments
Fiskars Scalloped Edge Punch

I stamped the leaf in two tones of green and then used the dainty flower from 'Framed Sentiments' to add a bit of interest. The bee from 'Build a Bug' looked a bit lost when I stamped him over the leaves.  Cheating,  I stamped the Bee again on a scrap piece of card and rounded the corners.  I then put this over the original Bee using foam squares.   No one will ever notice!  The trail is stamped on the base card before I positioned the square.  A bit of bling  finishes it off.

Thats all for now - the sun is still out!

Thanks for visiting.

Lemon Tree Launch

It seems only fair to warn you that I am completely new to blogging.  I just wanted to get that out of the way just in case I make an absolute mess of everything.

I find card making a great hobby and love stamping.  I have gained such a lot from other very talented bloggers and I am learning all the time.  I think that  at last I have found a style that agrees with me and that is CAS.

At least it sounds as though I know what I am talking about!
Anyway, that is enough about me.

This is what I have come up with.....

A Happy Couple of Owls

Supplies:   Clearly Besotted Stamps
Stamps - Leafy Accents, You're A Hoot, Framed Sentiments
Dies - You're A Hoot

This card was easy to make.  These owls make a lovely couple and
there are so many sentiments to choose from the 'Framed Sentiments' set.

Another Little Friend

Stamps - Leafy Accents, You're  A Hoot,  It's Your Birthday,  Blooming Marvellous
Dies - You're A Hoot

The 'Leafy Accent' stamp set from Clearly Besotted is very versatile so I use it a lot.  My brain wave was to use the centre of the flower from 'Blooming Marvellous' as the moon as I do not have a circular stamp.  The sentiment and the hat is from 'It's your Birthday'.

Birthday Wishes

Supplies: Clearly Besotted Stamps

Stamps - Butterfly Wishes Additions, Flower Arrangement, Framed Sentiments.
Die - Butterfly Wishes Die Selection.

I might have to move away from this colour combination soon....... variation on a theme!

'Building Blocks' is another adaptable stamp set with six different designs  - the dots are one of my favourites.  Leafy accents again I'm afraid - but who cares when it does the trick!

Thank you for visiting.
